ReplyDeleteThis is a very good start! A few things I thought about it (not from a music standpoint, but from just a poetic stance): In the verses, you seem to be describing something, and it goes into a series of steps. The very last line of the verse, "We're so undeserving" seems to break that chain of description. Though it is true that we are undeserving, to me, I thought it would belong better in another section of the song. Unfortunately, taking out that line will mess up the symmetry of the verses, but perhaps you can extend the 7th line (by changing the rhythm vocally) on an extended chord (one that would lead to the chorus, such at the V of whatever the chorus chord is) to get into the chorus, or rewrite the 8th line.
ReplyDeleteOn the chorus, I wish there was a little more description of who Jesus was. It is very cool as a reflection, but the phrase, "What a Savior is this" begs for description of why we stand in awe.
All in all, a few tweaks will make this a very meaningful and impactful song.
