Lyrics

Lyrics I am working on from the "stream of consciousness" writing last night. Hopefully someone sees something they can do with this? I'm still working on which verses to use/formatting/re-wording, etc.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

You brought me out of darkness
You are my Rock
My Fortress
When I was weakest
Your presence was strongest

Chorus1:
Oh Glory so great, how great is Your name
Lord I lift You up on high
Oh Mercy and Grace
I'll never be ashamed
to cry out Your name

Your Glory is so awesome
Too much for me to fathom
How I fall repeatedly
And You just keep on saving me
Blessing me with undeserved Grace
So I live for only You
And always seek Your face

Chorus2:
Oh Glory so great, How great is Your name
I will never be ashamed

Oh Mercy & Grace
I profess how great
Your love is in me
In You I trust & believe

Your Grace is sufficient for me
For Your strength is made perfect
in my weakness

Bridge:

But nothing I can do
will prove how great
Oh nothing I can do
will prove how great
And there's nothing I can do
to earn your Grace

Chorus 1

  1. I think that it's pretty awesome! I'm a bit confused on the bridge part where it says "will prove how great." To me, it seems a little vague. but other than that, great work.

  2. This is definitely a good starter for a song! Is there a general melody or melodic theme that you guys have created yet?

  3. I think it could use some more distinct wording of how Christ died for our sins. You definitely don't want the song to come out in a way that any religion can sing it because it is too vague.

Jesus saved us only once by the cross, so the line "you keep on saving me" might be a little confusing

  4. I love how you used God's truth, "Your Grace is sufficient for me, For Your strength is made perfect in my weakness."

I like the chorus, however, I am not sold on the first part of it because the word great is used two times in the same line and might be a little awkward to sing. I do like the line, "I will never be ashamed".

The second part of the chorus, however, is my fav! I love all of it!
